2027 Good Brick Award · Preservation Houston
Preservation Houston has honored Ryan Writt and Rod Jahromi with a 2027 Good Brick Award for the rehabilitation of the John R. Cheek House, a 1913 Craftsman in the Woodland Heights Historic District.
Original siding, trim, porch columns and double-hung windows were repaired, the historic wood floors restored, and new living space set at the rear so the 1913 house still leads from the street.
R+R treated our home like it was their own. Every decision was explained, every detail was intentional, and the finished house is better than what we imagined when we started.

Who We Are
R+R is a residential development company focused on creating thoughtfully designed homes in Houston’s most desirable neighborhoods, delivering lasting quality for the families who live in them.
Ryan’s passion for real estate began at sixteen with his first job in the industry. Before founding R+R, he worked in mergers and acquisitions in the energy sector, earned an MBA from Rice University, and gained direct exposure to the luxury buyer market as a licensed agent.
His projects have been featured on the Woodland Heights Home Tour, and his rehabilitation of the 1913 John R. Cheek House on Euclid received Preservation Houston’s 2027 Good Brick Award. He is a recipient of RE/MAX’s 100% Club Award and serves on the Houston Heights Association Land Use Committee.
